Rockaway's location, between Jamaica Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, has endowed it with unique aquatic habitats that cannot be found anywhere else in New York City or the Eastern Seaboard.

It's not unusual for us to see whales or dolphins along our shore during the spring migration season and a great opportunity for young people to learn to gain an appreciation for the environment.

Our experienced educators will lead your class outdoors to explore a specific area of natural significance. Students will take part in a hands on activity that will allow school-aged children to make meaningful connections to the natural world.

Starting in April, RWA will host a different field trip each month for K-12th grade classes. Trips are free for public schools in the Rockaways.
