The CIT Summer Leadership program is a job training program for students aged 16-22 interested in working as summer camp counselors for the Aqua 101 Summer Program.
Applications for the Summer 2018 CIT Program will be due April 1st. Students interested in this program should check back again in the spring.
The CIT Summer Leadership Program is the perfect opportunity for high school and college students, ages 16-22 to earn income during the summer while also training in swim and water safety, team building, and life skills.
CIT Interns are employed as counselors in the Aqua 101 Summer Youth Program where they mentor youngsters in environmental conservation and marine science projects. Students have the opportunity to learn CPR, swim instruction, and water based recreational activities like kayaking in a safe and supportive environment along Rockaway shoreline and Jamaica Bay.
Students in the CIT Program are required to take part in water safety and first aid training and must be available to work from July 2nd to August 3rd, 2018. Interns will receive stipended pay for their participation.
Students turning 16 by June 1st, 2018 are eligible to apply by submitting the online application by April 1, 2018 to be included in the selection process. Students with CPR and lifeguard certification are prioritized. After submitting the application, students will be contacted for interviews.
