Whether through the planning of a “Greater Rockaway” or our continual efforts to keep the coast clean and accessible for the public to enjoy, RISE is always looking for new ways to help improve the health and well-being of our community.

 

"Dune Squad" Invasive Plant Removal

RISE is the recipient of the 2024 New York State Department of Environmental Conservation grant to support a designated "Dune Squad" to remove invasive plants from the Rockaway shoreline and dunes.

Arverne East Native Plant Nursery

Join RISE in creating a new native plant nursery, to locally grow native shoreline plants for the coastal dunes of the Rockaway peninsula.

Stay Healthy, Rockaway!

RISE has ongoing outreach programs with local health care providers and community partners to help keep neighbors healthy throughout the seasons.
