Farm Share Watercolor Workshop

TIME: Wednesday, September 20th, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
LOCATION: RISE, 58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd (B59th St)

In this all-levels-welcomed watercolor workshop, participants can stop by the RISE Farm Share and try their hands at watercolor painting the week's fresh produce.

Beginners will learn to setup their palette from warm to cool colors, and go through quick exercises to experience several watercolor techniques, such as wet on wet, dry brush or glazing effect. For more advanced participants, we will focus on attention to composition.

Supplies will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own materials.

Our instructor, Chemin Hsiao, is a Taiwanese painter, illustrator and art instructor based in Queens. He has exhibited work in New York, Los Angeles, and Berlin. Most recently his work was featured at the event Taiwan: A World of Orchid at the Queens Botanical Garden as part of the individual exhibition "Sitting with the Garden" (on view until Sep. 24th, 2017). More of Chemin's work could be seen at the portfolio website:
