Maritime Forest Tree Planting

TIME: Sunday, March 29th, 2015  10AM-1PM

LOCATION: Meet at RISE/Firehouse 59; 5803 Rockaway Beach Blvd, Rockaway, NY 11692

Come join Rockaway Waterfront Alliance for a community volunteer day culminating in the planting of evergreen trees along the Rockaway shoreline. This shoreline restoration will create a natural maritime forest and protective buffer of dunes with indigenous trees and shrubs along the east end of the Rockaways.

This event will require heavy lifting and digging but we will work in teams to plant the trees. Dress accordingly.

Adults and kids alike are welcome to participate in the planting.  Registration is not required but students who are looking to do community service hours for this event are encouraged to bring paperwork from their schools to get credit for their hours.
