Rockaway Waterfront Alliance is kicking off their Free performance series for children with David Engel's Pirate School performing at the Beach 17th St Boardwalk Amphitheater.

Pirate School! is a madcap, swashbuckling solo variety show created and performed by veteran New York physical comedian and actor David Engel.

Pirate School has enthralled, emboldened and delighted thousands of families for more than 18 years with its own mischievous blend of clown theater, slapstick antics, adept magic and puppetry, zany music, rich special effects score and its signature brand of boisterous full-audience participation.

Featured in New York Magazine's "Best of New York: Kids", Pirate School consistently draws large audiences because of its undeniable, enduring theme: allowing kids to live the dream of the roving swashbuckler in a joyful, non-violent fashion.

The family-friendly outdoor matinee is free for the public and Rockaway Public Schools, but space is limited so reservations are required. To reserve space contact John Cruz, Program Director at jcruz@rwalliance.org
