Aqua 101 is a summer day camp program for children 9-13 focused on environmental stewardship and water sports recreation to promote the health, safety and well being of local youth and the natural environment of the Rockaway Peninsula.

Aqua 101 is an active summer day camp program that builds on environmental arts and stewardship to engage children ages 9-13.

Students take part in environmental stewardship, arts projects with local artists/designers, urban farming and water based activities including: marine science, swimming, surfing, and kayaking along the Rockaway shoreline and Jamaica Bay.

Program Details:

1 week sessions Monday - Friday 10AM-4PM 

Summer session 1: Monday, July 10th to Friday, July 14th, 2017
Summer session 2: Monday, July 17th to Friday, July 21st, 2017
Summer session 3: Monday, July 24th to Friday, July 28th, 2017
Summer session 4: Monday, July 31st to Friday, August 4th, 2017

Tuition: $450* per camper / session. 

Campers must be 9 years of age by June 1, 2017 to attend be eligible for the program.
Each camper can only attend 1 session per summer season.

* Financial scholarships are available to any children eligible for free lunch. 

APPLICATION PROCESS

Parent or guardian must submit a registration application for camper (online or download below). Registration applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Space is limited first come first serve, so it is advised that families register before April 1st while space is available. 

After applications are received, an RWA staff will directly contact applicant to discuss any questions concerning the program or financial assistance. At that time applicants in need of tuition assistance can submit a financial aide request. Confirmation of financial assistance scholarships will be sent within two weeks of receipt.

Once a participant receives confirmation from RWA staff, a 50% deposit (or a reduced deposit if tuition assistance is offered) will be required. Deposits must be received in order to confirm camper enrollment.  Deposits can be made online or by check made payable to:

All registrations forms must be received by May 1st for consideration. Waiver and health forms are available below and must be submitted no later than June 15th.
