Create Far Rock Arts Initiative

Join us for community-wide initiative to grow the capacity of arts + culture on the eastern end of the Rockaway Peninsula.

Over the past year, RWA has led a community-wide initiative, Create Far Rock, to envision the future of the arts on the eastern end of the Rockaways. Local residents and stakeholders joined town hall meetings, participated in focus groups, and took our survey to help identify cultural assets and ways to grow the capacity of art and culture in the Rockaway community.

Community input has been critical to ensure that arts and culture plays a role in supporting a vibrant, equitable, and diverse Far Rockaway, especially in the face of recent city initiatives including the NYC Economic Development Corporation's Downtown Far Rockaway Neighborhood Development initiative and Resilient Edgemere Community Plan conducted by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Your input will help formulate investments in the local arts and cultural sector over the next two years. We encourage local stakeholders to take the survey below:
